KCRD's first project (in 2007) was a GOCO Grant to fix up the local park; we added a covered pavilion with picnic tables, winterized restrooms, a paved walking path, BBQ grills, a basketball court, and lighting throughout the park.
KCRD painted the door to the town's clinic, planted trees and flowers near the entrance, and installed a drip system to keep the exterior looking professional.
KCRD placed solar lamp posts all along Main Street.
KCRD wrote a Colorado Housing and Finance Association (CHFA) Direct Effect Grant to pay Some Girls and a Mural to paint a Mural on Wildcat Corner. This Mural is inspired by the poem "Out Where the West Begins" by Arthur Chapman
KCRD brought in a new welcome sign on the West end of town, we added a windmill, new sign, and planted trees.
KCRD took on this modular house project in 2019-2020. We purchased an old abandoned home, abated asbestos, demolished the old house and brought in a new Champion modular home with the help of grants from The Cooper Clark Foundation and The Eastern Colorado Bank.
KCRD helped organize two large Tree Clean up days where over 60 large, dead trees were removed from around town.
